Anybody have any experience good or bad with these traps? I'm thinking about adding a few more long springs to my collection for coyotes and the Bridger is about the only option now that Sleepy Creek is out of business. MTP does have some Sleepy Creeks left but the Bridger is a good bit cheaper.

I use them a lot for cat trapping. I swap the pans out for PIT Pans and outside laminate the jaws. They make for a great DLS. I’m also partial to having the chain attached to the spring rather than the baseplate. This allows me to put in an exposed set on hard flat surfaces like rock or frozen ground without the base plated D-ring getting in the way. They lay extremely flat with the chain attached to the spring.

It’s a good all around trap for the money, but I do recommend the mods above, especially if being used for cats. They become a little more expensive but well forth it for me.

The Bridger #4 DBL is a good trap.
I have about 3 dozen of them and first used them about 12 years ago.
Most of my traps are victor 3 and 4 DBL. The Bridger is just as good or better than my old victors. IMO
I wouldn't buy any Sleepy Creek No. 3 or 4 DBLS. I had a few and had issues with them. The jaw post had a tendency to bend and then the jaws would pop out. There's posts on Tman discussing the issue.

Thanks for the replies so far.

Are the springs good and strong on the Bridgers? I have a few Sleepy Creek 3s and they are good stout traps. The end of the frame of the trap does bend a tad with the spring pressure but I haven't had any issues so far but I haven't used them very much. I plan on using a few more long springs this year. Just a cool trap and a bit nostalgic I suppose.

My bridger 4 DLS have good strong springs, they are stronger then my No. 4 Sleepy Creek DLS.
Another oddity with the Sleepy's is that my No. 3's have much stronger springs than my No.4's.( I only had 2- 4's and don't set them any more).

I’m the odd one out, got a dozen and a half and I think they’re junk and no one will buy them from me.... after cleaning 4 of them to just get the springs to expand all the way up I quit. Every edge had to be hit with a grinder
