How often do you refresh the lure or urine scent around your cat sets? Is one time on the initial set enough, or do you guys put a little more urine on it once in awhile if you haven’t caught anything yet?

For me it depends on weather. If it’s dry out and it hasn’t snowed/rained recently than I refresh usually every two weeks. If you’re getting constant freeze thaw and melting snow or rain I refresh cat sets every week. I haven’t seen any negatives on refreshing my dedicated cat sets as it doesn’t seem to cause any refusals due to human scent.

I refresh once a week with urine. In most cases lure and bait should be good for a long time.

Usually pretty wet here cat has a way better nose than given credit.
Human odor is not a problem with cats they do what they want.
Cat season lasts 3 weeks to a month here.
Lure one time per set.

I'll put a scent post out for this guy now that our general season is open...as of today. That was a near miss and would have had to release it had I caught it last night. I had a Zagger pipe set out for our early coyote season and the cat didn't find the Hiawatha enticing enough to work. The cat walked right over the traps.

Getting them ro committ...
As I prepare for our upcoming bobcat season, that's 1 thing I'm trying to plan for, because I've heard it can be challenging to get them to commit
