Interesting. I used to know someone that was a taxidermist and they had a big version of this they used for fleshing hides. I always thought it was a pretty neat setup but the big version i always thought just wouldn't work for furs. Maybe a smaller handheld version would be handy. At that price though i will likely not be experimenting with it.

Just remember those aren't meant for fleshing hides for the fur market. They are meant for final fleshing and thinning of the hides.

I watched a guy use one of the bench mounted fleshers to flesh raw rough skinned beaver pelts.Guaranteed he would never have to lubricate that machine.

I had one for a while, like stated above they are designed for taxidermy, it did work well for cleaning up the tough to get stuff around the heads on furs (the teeth on the blade are a little to sharp when it comes and you have to dull it up a little) If you get the model that runs off an air compressor you better have a big one, I had one that was larger than the minimum requirements and it still ease the large enough to keep up with it.

264 dollars for an air tool you can buy for fifty bucks or less at about any tool sales place! Wow!
