Good catches, with those number's you shouldn't be worried about saving a few bucks per dozen buying the copies when you clearly catch enough fur to use the best footholds the real MB 550's just my 2 cents worth.Great catches, keep hammering them.American made when ever possible..... Was able to talk to one of the guys from Duke traps at the MTA,all I'mma say is if y'all are still talking about the 550's like y'all are wait till this lol

Just FYI I put out 12 coyote sets yesterday, 3 duke 1.75's, 3 mb550's and 6 duke 550's. I will report back any updates if I can make a catch with em.

Donna and I stand firmly with those who innovated and brought us all the MB 550. MTP and the Caven crew have absolutely changed the mid-size trap landscape for coyotes in the past decade and are worthy of our hard earned $$$.
Rob Caven did all us canine trappers a service when he labored in his tool shop 16-20 hour days... getting everything just right, listening to trappers input, and marketing the best priced trap for coyotes and canines in decades. Hands down. 1000's of hours of sweat and late nights. And a bunch of money out in dyes and such too. All on a gamble this new trap design would help all of to eliminate what we all used to do ourselves. Laminate, weld, cut, grind, on and on it went for us to get stock traps as we needed them. And then along came the "stock" super design and rugged real deal of the MB 550's and we could all get out of our own shops and get on to picking up poo and such!!
And then Rob continued to labor for another 10+ years with hours and hours each day spent "at the shop", often sleeping right there at the MTP shop, to KEEP UP with everyone's orders. You know how we expect products asap, leaving his own trap line vacant all these years. Great service few would have kept up with because not many work like the Cavens let me tell ya! And....always pleasant, always diligent, always above board and then some. Couldn't get better service.
Along comes a knock off for a few bucks less to scoop up whatever biz they can get by undercutting. Same name. Same basic design. Just cheaper is the game plan.
I wouldn't spend .05 cents for the new DKs. It all doesn't pass the sniff test for how you would like to be treated. And I'm a coyote trapper by trade so I can tell good poo from bad.
Go MTP go. We appreciate your continued long hours (folks have no idea how much blood, sweat and tears is on those shop floors in Pennock, MN. Meanwhile, A nameless, big company's owner, who's main biz isn't even trapping, is prolly smiling as he sends another order to the Asia mainland. No $$$ from the June's to 'em. Nope. Nada.

I bought myself some Duke 550's too just because. Glad to hear the review on them. I plan to set them next week.
~ADC~ Are you doing any mods or pretty much going to run them out of the box? Stock for me, they are great right out of the box. ~ADC~
