Finding a double yoker was a time for celebration at our house when I was young. Way to go Kylie!!!
Life sure is tough when you don't learn from the mistakes of others.

Looks good, my new hens just started laying so I'm looking forward to some double yolkers before long When my daughters were still home they cracked open a triple one morning!

My birds are six-months old, just starting to lay. that's when double-yolkers are most common.
I don't think we ever had a triple-yolker, had tiny no-yolkers before.
Eh...wot?

need to get my lights put in. We had the timer programmed; on at 3:00 AM, off at 7:00 AM, back on at 4:00 PM and off at 6:00 PM but the big rain/wind storm last week knocked our power out. Haven't gotten around to reprogramming it yet. Doubles are just twice as good! At least!
Eh...wot?

Double yolks are often times the last weeks of that chicken I've found. Once they start laying that big of eggs, they usually get egg bound in the not so distant future. Once I thought they were super cool, too...now I say "uh oh....gonna be down a chicken soon". Interesting, my experience has been the opposite. Most double-yolkers come from my young birds. Of course I change them out every other year and rarely let a chicken live past three-years-old so I don't really have much experience with older birds.

Most of our double yolkers come from the new layers as well! Never had a triple yolker either. Chris

You never know what you will get sometimes double yokes, no shell just the sack or the mini eggs. Chickens are a hoot to have around and they make great garbage disposals. Only had 1 triple so far.

It must have been a couple of years ago, maybe more, I got a double yolker from a carton of store bought eggs. That's mighty rare.
My name ain't Keith
