Any one ever use it for them? Works for muskrats but I wonder if beavers would investigate it.

You may think before you act. The question is did you listen to your own council?

Just about anything mixed with castor will work. I've used anise, spearmint, birch, wintergreen, etc.. Anything is better than just straight castor. Plain castor will certainly bring them in, but imo it will bring them in too fast, sometimes they will back into your castor mound springing your trap with their tail. I think the addition of something like mentioned above will slow them down a bit and come in nose first.
Back years ago when I used chewing tobacco a bit I thought of grinding some castor along with half a can of Kodiak Wintergreen; I'll bet it would work great.

I would have to think that would leave a bad aftertaste in your mouth.

I'm just happy to be here! Today I'm as young as I'll ever be and and older than I've ever been before!

I've never really been a fan of using any lure for beaver trapping when it's during the " fur season " it's always seemed like when I did the second beaver there would chew the crap out of the first beaver caught when I started using more 330 conibear traps and letting them get out to deep water with out lure the chewing damage isn't much of a concern.
Unless it's a damage control situation then I'll use lure and take my chances I prefer to use castor from beaver from a different area than where I'm trapping.

I have used the mint smokey mountain chew on beaver and it works. (Spring high water) works even better for muskrats. And yes anise does work also. Good change up.

Let me sugar coat this

Coons love anise. You might end up w/ coon in your sets. Not saying that's necessarily a bad thing.

Well aware but figured floating the scent would help filter the problem . but coon swim too.
