Hey everyone! Long time lurker, first time poster! I’ve been around trapping and dabbled here and there in the past but I’ve finally got time/equipment/ground to get more serious about predator trapping. I’m wanting to target bobcats and coyotes in my area. Anyways, my question is this, I recently caught a coon in one of my sets which I released and reset the trap. He did bleed just a little from the paw on my trap and in the bed, but I just wiped up what I could on a couple leaves and put them down the dirt hole with my bait. I remade the set back how it was to begin with. Is this still good for coyotes and cats, or do I need to move the set? I’ve read a ton of threads on resetting after a catch, but they’ve always been after same species catches. Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys!

Reset. If your on location your on location. Coons are a fact of trapping.

You may think before you act. The question is did you listen to your own council?

Welcome aboard!

I always just re-set at same location here, Skunk, Coon Opossum. Actually seems to help sometimes.
