Just got my AuSable anchors over lunch. Im a stake guy but im giving these a shot. Question is these are going on K-9 line, what prep do i need to do? I normally boil my stake tops when done with traps, do i need to clean these before i use them?

A cable stake you can just drive into the ground. Should be good.

Used a few, only gripe i have so far is they dont seem to want to drive in strait in my soil type, and i got 20” cable and this hard ground its a work out to get them in that deep. I tried pre drilling some worked better but them my drill battery died forgot charged one lol. Tomorrow i will try 1/2” x 18” auger bit and pre drill them or get a BFH...

Ausable anchors are like generic wolf fangs. They are kinda flimsy, but better than nothing. 20 inch cable in hard ground sounds like very Overkill.

Right now I’m having amnesia and déjà vu at the same time. I think I’ve forgotten this before.

Next ones will definitely not be longer than 15”, i will use these in some worked farm ground. I went with 20” to start with because i had a yote take a trap double cross staked in worked ground. But i can see now i over reacted lmao.....

I used the Ausable brand cable stakes for one year and switched to superstore. I like them much better.

Wish I had more time to trap....

i made some of my own style “ Iowa earth anchors “ they drive in easier and straighter. They are cut straight instead of at 45° and my driver goes through and is the point. I may go back to that option they also have 18-20 inches fo cable and i can make them cheaper i bet.

I run all super stakes now for the same reason as you Braskayoter. The only thing that sucks about them is they pack full of dirt. I carry half of an old scissor to shove in there and clean them out. I’ve tried numerous different anchors, once you get a quality one you’ll never look back.

I looked at some at nta. I went with pogo ones. Cheap to make and a member on here made me a driver. My first time I used them. I have always cross staked stuff.
