Usually I wait until after Thanksgiving, but I thought I would take advantage of the lack of snow this year to go cut a high-elevation tree today. We actually cut a few big trees with the thoughts of selling them to the suckers, or excuse me, I mean the folks in Seattle. [Linked Image]

One thing the south lacks is good Christmas trees. But they were flying off the racks at Lowe's today.

Waggler that is a nice looking tree.

I plan on taking the kids on Tuesday for a tree and hopefully blast a turkey (season ends on the 30th) in the process.

For those who might not know 4th graders can get a free Christmas tree permit through the NF.

I've found these Alaskan spruce lose their needles if they're cut too early. Part of the reason I went artificial.

I'm not going to pay $80-100 for some dang tree at a nursery.

The smell of those trees is one of my favorite things about the Adirondacks.

We just came out of a big pine tree area, (scouting) and seen 3 different families cutting their tree.

In recent years we haven't put up our tree until a couple days before Christmas. That way we can keep it up well into January. It seems to brighten up the dark days of winter for us.
