Do marten run loops like a lot of other predators or is their "territory" coverage somewhat sporadic and random as long as the habitat is right?

They are always looking for food

When the weather is not right, they will hold up for some time, and you think " What's the matter" a new front comes in and poof they run everywhere.
Sometimes 5 miles out onto the bare-katush prairie with out a tree in sight over their heads. Go figure.

Thanks guys, I've never targeted them or even set traps for them until yesterday. Set 4 traps along a creek in old growth cedar/fir/spruce with lots of deadfalls. Nice, stinky bait and some call lure. We will see.

If you can find tracks they will almost always be back
