Everyone says that coyote remakes are a hot spot for more. I have never had any luck. Should I move outside catch circle?

Yes. I can't catch one in one that's already caught another coyote so moved outside and it's made a difference.

I would say yes also' I don't think I have ever caught one in the same set. Not even in a catch circle from a nontarget animal.

Remake the same set that caught. Add another one 10' away. See which one scores next, and then make a decision. I always remake the same set that catches, and don't have avoidance issues.

Seems to be a personal thing. I've watched videos where the trapper remade the set and then a new one next to it and a very well known trapper with initials LR who only does a remake. Heavens knows he catches plenty of coyotes!!!

I've never had any luck with coyotes in remakes. They avoid them like the plague in my area.

In my area, I always move the set outside the circle. They avoid them around here like the plague. In TX, it was a different story. Coyote after coyote caught in a remake in the catch circle. Might be population related, I don't know.

I've never caught a coyote in a remake either. I thought it was just me. Everything I've read it is a hotspot. Now I don't feel so bad.

Ive had outstanding luck in remakes this year. It seems to vary for me year to year though.

I've had my best catch numbers in remakes. Now this year, I can't get a single dog to set up a remake!

This is the third coyote caught in that set. When I do a remake I usually put the trap right back in the same bed as the original set, kick out the circle a little to blend the harsh edges and it’s good. Here are some of the coyotes I’ve caught in remakes just like that so far this year. Proof is in the pudding.

This year almost half my yotes are from some form of remake.
I generally end up making a walk through with some urine, and a curiosity lure, unless my backing survives then ill use a similar bait to what worked the first time.

And I always add another set at the same location. Generally a copy of whatever the first set was. Seems to be working pretty well.

Remakes work good for me, I always have 2 sets at every location. If the second set seems stale I carry a little catch circle dirt from the remake and give it a light dusting normally wakes it right up.

I usually go with a step down dirt hole in remakes as the backing is usually destroyed. A good bait or food lure as there's usually more pee and coyote scent than anything I can add.

I have better better luck with a new set 10-20’ from the catch circle. I still reset the old one and seem to catch a lot of off targets in the remakes.

It seems that in some instances they work well and sometimes they don't work at all.
Scheide must trap a different area in Texas and perhaps that's the difference, he can catch them in remakes. I've had traps in the ground some years from November until July and have "never" caught a Texas dog in a remake. High fence ranches only. No low fence with new blood coming in may answer some of that.

Keep notes and respond and set accordingly.

Happy Thanksgiving! Trapping today and predator calling tonight!

Work great for me, remakes just get better and better all season here.

I always reset trap after a catch, but do see tracks in the snow where some refuse . I always have 3 to 4 traps set in same area. So if i dont get them all thats just fine. Only looking to catch the dumb one's, the smarties make good seed stock.

Let me sugar coat this

I always reset in catches no matter what the catch was. I have pretty good luck in remakes but it does seem to be better some years.
