Read in one of the threads below of using one a couple inches in diameter. The few scent post sets I made I used were finger width. What size you using or does it even matter? Talking red fox. Thanks! Oh and have a Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm using peeled beaver sticks about 1 to 2 inches thick and cut to 18 inches in length. They get stuck in ground so that only a foot or so is above ground. I drill a hole or two about 3 inches from top and shove some grass wad in that hole as my lure and pee holder. These really stick out on a flat picked bean field or low grazed pasture or hay field. In corn stubble I just bend over a stalk and use that. Jim
Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Use a 3/4-inch plastic pipe like with the pipe dream set. Fox will try to pull out because they can get their teeth on it. If it’s in the ground 5-6 inches, with 2-inches sticking out, they’ll work it and you’ll get them when they walk around, trying to pull that pipe out of the ground.

I've used everything from a corn stalk to a log or rock with equal success.

I have used everything from a small broom stick sized sapling to a corner post that had a quarter mile of wire stretching off of it but admittedly I am usually targeting cats and coyotes

Do yotes & cats try to pull it out too?
