Caught this one a couple days ago. Leg had been broken long ago and didn’t heal right. From the long hair on the bad foot it didn’t touch the ground very often. [Linked Image]

It's always amazed me how well they can get along with just 3 legs working right some of them are so fat it's like skinning a pig and quick a cousin who has shot them from a airplane cuss's them like no other .
Skinning out some hind legs is a challenge when for what ever reason they are pulled up tight and won't straighten out then it's grip it and rip it time .

I caught 3 different 3 legged coyotes off a ranch last year. All were gone from mid shoulder down. You didn't know until you got right up to them healthy as all get out. Very resilient animal!

Funny how a tap on the snout tames one of these tough guys right down.

Sounds like someone's rifle was sighted in a little low.

Probably sighted for 100 and popping off shots at 150.

It was his youngest son, he's a caller. The rancher asked me what i thought had happened. I just told him i didn't know, tons of coyotes on his place and didn't want to take the chance of offending him.

More like popping off shots at 300+. In this Gyp Hill country of Kansas if you cant get it called in to 100 yds or less your next closest shot will be 250+

Saw a three legged fox struggle to come across a field to my location. I was young and fairly fast. Thought it will be no problem catching this one with his jacked up leg. I came out from behind a tree and got about two strides into the chase.

That fox had lit the afterburners and was already in the next county.

Don’t let the little buggers fool ya, 3 legs is not a disadvantage.

Coyotes are tough buggers they go long way on a bad shot.
I catch 1 or 2 every once in while missing something when I go into new permissions.
