When Victor created the term 'conibear,' does the name have a real meaning behind it? It's such a unique name for a body grio trap, so I'm curious about where the conibear terminology came from.

Victor didn’t create the word conibear.

Frank Conibear invented the Conibear trap and it was named for him. He was a Canadian (I think). Not sure where his family name came from.

Technically only traps made by Animal Trap Company, Lititz, PA and now Oneida Victor of Ohio can be called Conibear. They own the brand name. All other traps of that style are body traps, or something similar.
