you dont need that to one night coyotes. ( it is liable to put down an odor that repels coyotes) just carry everything you need to your spot. make the set without moving all over the place. gather everything up then stand up and walk back to your truck. don't hurry, pay attention to details. walk in, kneel down. make the set gather everything and leave. its walking around or back and forth to get stuff that causes problems.

It does kill scent on objects, but your skin constantly sheds dead skin cells and you have to breathe, so it will not help you fool a deer. So many studies have been done and when it came to dogs finding a hidden person, the guys with the scent sprays were found first. I believe it also leaves a weird odor to animals.

I'm going for charcoal impregnated, woven copper with the electrical field clothing and underwear with the scent mask and gloves. Then the ION locker pump thingy and two different sprays and using nose jammer and an OZONICS with baseball cap mount. Oh almost forgot rubber boots from a rubber plant tree recommended by that ant with scent free gators.

All joking aside I'm not totally sold on the whole scent free thing. Most of the places I set have atv, utv, vehicle and tractor traffic. I try to avoid unnatural stuff like gasoline or strong scents that don't belong like chemicals but mainly I just wear different gloves for setting and baiting and I do wear rubber boots but have worn my work shoes. I also don't pee or spit at my set location and I try to control sweat.

i wear deer skin gloves when i dirt trap. they protect my hands from stickers and keeps them from getting the skin wore off so easy. i stick them in my coat pocket when i grab the bait jar and pee bottle. just bare hand that stuff. after a couple weeks i toss them in the washer. cold water no soap. air dry. have to put them on and stretch them a bit as they dry or they shrink a bunch and its more work to stretch them back out and loosen them up. i dont worry about trap setters or hammer or my sifter at remakes. I imagine after an hour or two of setting those gloves reek to a coyotes nose anyway.
there is a 400 acre farm not far from where i live . it is a hot spot of a coyote travel way. until two days ago my record coyote catch off that single property was 22 in a season. I been trapping there about a month this year. catch has dropped way off but i can check it in a few minutes and its a mile and a half from my front door. tuesday i caught #23 for the year off that 400 acres. i dont know which one's were named military phonetic radio code letters either.

i dye and wax my traps too. i like the way it protects them from rust. i dont often take time to redo them during trapping season. i will take them to the car wash though and pressure wash them on the rinse cycle when im moving stuff to a new area. i like a clean trap at a new location.

Anybody spray down their sets with Scent Killer after making them? I think that stuff is a useless gimmick for deer hunting but I wonder if it could have some value for trapping, especially with first night catches. Is it not BAND from prisions ? Prisinors who are planing a escape, spray themselfs with it. So the Bloodhonds cant smell them. ITS TURE I SEEN IT ON U TUBE

Had days of pressure washing stone all day. At the end the water proof gloves and my hands would smell like feet.
I like leather gloves best, dry ones.
I too used candle makers wax, from Mars, Pa. It worked. I asked those long timers about scent invisible wax, they laughed.

Next time you work up a nasty sweat, wipe one underarm with a washcloth using plain water and the other with scent killer. The stuff works. It's not trying to cover tobacco smoke, it targets bacteria which produces the offensive odor.
I don't use it when I trap but I occasionally use it during deer season to spray my boots and outer clothing.

I have a pair of deerskin gloves and also use fleece gloves if its cold. They get washed along with my trapping clothes each night. Sure they hold scent but whatever just set fast and get out. Coyotes know you are there anyway. Sometimes I set barehanded if it's nice out. Scent killer stuff they sell everywhere and it sure has a lot of fans, whatever gives them confidence I guess. Makes me smile to think of a bad guy spraying it on himself then trying to get away from the police dogs. Surely someone tried that already in dumb criminal history I'd wager. Bet they were feeling really taken too, like they just bought snake oil from the carnival hawker. Danny I did send off once as a kid for those x ray vision glasses. Got them, put them on, and wished I'd had my quarter back. With the scent killer sprays and stuff unfortunately most buyers wont know they should wish for theirs back too. Cant see the effects either way so they assume it works.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Scent killer doesn’t make you undetectable, it gives you that extra few seconds to possibly make a shot on that deer of a lifetime, or stop that doe from blowing as that buck makes it last few steps before coming into view. I’m nowhere near the trapper 90% on here are, but after trapping Summer coyotes in SWGA and wringing my shirt out after making a few sets, I can tell you that the coyotes KNOW you’ve been there...but still get caught.

jabNE, a quarter was a lot of money when I sent mine in. Plus a nickle for a stamp. I had to mow a BIG yard to earn a dollar. It was a valuable lesson in marketing I have never forgotten.

Wanna Be if I was trapping in GA in August I would use a coon light and do it at night. I can't take that kind of heat and humidity anymore
