I too used candle makers wax, from Mars, Pa.
It worked. I asked those long timers about scent invisible wax, they laughed.

I caught a double last night on 2 sets where I had sprayed that stinky Scent Killer stuff that repels coyotes. They had been in the ground several days though.

You may think I have OCD but I would be afraid of smells around the rim of my bucket contaminating what's inside my bucket. Obviously, you have odors other than those wafting from your hole. Separate into two different buckets. I use neopreen gloves for lure, etc. Jerseys on traps, eq.

Next time you work up a nasty sweat, wipe one underarm with a washcloth using plain water and the other with scent killer. The stuff works. It's not trying to cover tobacco smoke, it targets bacteria which produces the offensive odor.

I don't use it when I trap but I occasionally use it during deer season to spray my boots and outer clothing.

I have a pair of deerskin gloves and also use fleece gloves if its cold. They get washed along with my trapping clothes each night. Sure they hold scent but whatever just set fast and get out. Coyotes know you are there anyway. Sometimes I set barehanded if it's nice out.
Scent killer stuff they sell everywhere and it sure has a lot of fans, whatever gives them confidence I guess.
Makes me smile to think of a bad guy spraying it on himself then trying to get away from the police dogs. Surely someone tried that already in dumb criminal history I'd wager. Bet they were feeling really taken too, like they just bought snake oil from the carnival hawker.
Danny I did send off once as a kid for those x ray vision glasses. Got them, put them on, and wished I'd had my quarter back. With the scent killer sprays and stuff unfortunately most buyers wont know they should wish for theirs back too. Cant see the effects either way so they assume it works.

Scent killer doesn’t make you undetectable, it gives you that extra few seconds to possibly make a shot on that deer of a lifetime, or stop that doe from blowing as that buck makes it last few steps before coming into view.
I’m nowhere near the trapper 90% on here are, but after trapping Summer coyotes in SWGA and wringing my shirt out after making a few sets, I can tell you that the coyotes KNOW you’ve been there...but still get caught.

jabNE, a quarter was a lot of money when I sent mine in. Plus a nickle for a stamp. I had to mow a BIG yard to earn a dollar. It was a valuable lesson in marketing I have never forgotten.

Wanna Be if I was trapping in GA in August I would use a coon light and do it at night. I can't take that kind of heat and humidity anymore
