Xmas vacation for my oldest granddaughter is fast approaching. We have a ball trapping rats under the ice but also put out a few weasel boxes. Is anyone else trapping them? Have you sold any?

Thanks Coyote addict. While trapping rats in the marsh I saw a few tracks that looked like it was good size....for a weasel. Mostly short tails around here.

Go get em have fun ! Are your weasel boxes similar to mink boxes? What do you use for bait/lure? Caught one weasel in my life by accident, have no idea if we have many around, but would love to get one. Thanks.

Boxes are similar to a mink box . I have been using Lennons weasel lure. Any bloody meat will work , Shrews and Mice are a problem eating the bait ,so when they get caught they go in the back of the box also.

I use the wooden rat traps too. They're pretty slick. The spring strength nay weaken after a few seasons so then I slide a penny under the spring pins.

Not good on cold fingers., Got a nice blood blister on index finger to prove it ! Usually I file down the front corners of the trap so they don't damage the weasel.

Does size 0 long springs work well? Yes but you will have a live weasel an d possible damage.A 1.5 longspring will get a shoulder catch and act as a body gripper.

'Doesn't seem like many are trapping weasels lately
I set a couple 110s for weasels the other day. Well, I thought they were weasel dens. Turns out they were squirrels so I pulled those traps.
