Lure Of The North sells canvas ones complete or as a kit. They are not insulated and run big enough to wear other insulated clothing underneath. I ordered a kit and had my wife make it for me and it turned out great.

Dave and Kielyn are good friends of mine. I am doing a trip with them this winter. I will let them know you give their kit a good review.

Cotton anoraks are the ultimate winter outer layer. Work extremely well.

If you want to go a cheaper way, the Snow Walker's Companion, G & A Conover book has a scaled pattern of an anorak, (along with patterns for gaiters, moccasin, liners, mittens....)The anorak pattern definitely needed some tweaking though in the hood to collar attachment area. I forget the size, but the $18 Home Depot's painters tarp was big enough to get one out of, if you want to fine tune things before buying the higher dollar Egyptian cotton to work with.

I use a WinterGreen anorak day in and day out at work in the snow. Amazing wind blocking capability and has lots of pocket features to go with.
Plus they just look plain cool

I been using the Boreal Mountain Anorak for a few years now. I have the wool and canvas versions, they are good quality and warm.

do unto others as you would have them do unto you

Use a bearhide, and the mongolian cross pattern-minimal stitching.
