I just got done reading that book.
Did any of you Alaskans from Juneau ever have any interaction with the wolf?

The guy who wrote it was a serious wolf hunter in NW Alaska. Snogo hunting. Got married to a Florida woman and now he’s green as can be.

I got the green part when reading the book.

I saw the wolf, could have legally killed the wolf, but didn't. It was literally playing with domestic dogs. Just not my style, (draw your own conclusion).
I also knew the serial poacher that did kill him. Let's just say that in the end, he got everything he had coming to him.

The book was a pretty good read.
Killing a pet wolf or what ever you would call It wouldn't be my style either. It could have gone a lot worse for the poacher.

I had two interactions with that black wolf. One, he was ripe for the taking legally. The second was at the Mendenhall Lake on the ice. He was frolicking with peoples unleashed k9’s. Probably cherry picking meals.

The poacher has ultimately convicted of several wildlife crimes. He was shortly there-after raided for a marijuana growing operation, spent time in jail for violating probation, got his vehicles repo'ed, lost his job, his house foreclosed on, and ultimately got hooked on heroin. His wife then left him, and he left the state.
This is the true story. You can't make this stuff up!

Other than that he was a good guy ?
