The Muskoka area of Ontario,specifically Bracebridge and Huntsville were the sites of large leather tannerys back in the 1800's because of the abundance of hemlock. JTaddeo trapper Joined: Nov 2019 N.W. Pennsylvania	I have a stand of Hemlocks in the "yard"....nice picture man. The majesty of an ancient tree like that always draws my attention. That's a beauty right there. I know of quite a few spots around here where there are oaks, among others, that are just as impressive. FYI: at least one species of medicinal mushrooms, Ganoderma tsugae, also grows on hemlocks. Keep your boots dry and your powder too. I remember when a fur check was reality.....now I'm just trapping for the love of it. Best Regards, JT
