I want to try making my own coyote/fox bait. What ingredients does a good coyote bait contain. I was going to try a red meat based bait my idea is to use deer hearts liver and kidneys for a base with some mice ground up in the deer organs. Maybe add a small amount of beaver Castor and maybe some skunk. Any suggestions would be great thanks in advance.

these solutions are tried and true and well tested, when added to ANY red meat bait base.

Honestly if you want to do it right I would run some tests and see which of those three parts of the deer they like most and then test whether they like the combination of all three better than the individual part. Beaver castor is good but there are other ingredients I like better.
To me the fun is in the testing and discovering what works ok, good and better. You might try the brains while your testing also.

If you're not going to test I'd go with a bait solution.

If you can find Mike Marsyada’s groundhog bait formula in a past Trappers Post it catches good for me. It is basically gut, cut head and tail off, and then chop up with hair on. Put in a bucket with SB and a little castor. I did 12 a few years back and it’s still catching for me. Actually better than paste bait.
