Whether for fur trapping or ADC/control trapping, anybody that runs 2 traps at a set use the same chain/cable stake for both traps? How are you connecting? With 2 j-hooks to a chain link or using the quick links?

I imagine that would work just fine. If I were doing that I think I’d go with quick links, that way you can add a trap, remove a trap, replace a trap, without having to use up a bunch of j-hooks and mess around opening and closing them.

I’ve never done it before but I can’t see why it wouldn’t work. You’d have to run a swivel or two on the anchor before the two traps though or you’re gonna end up with a critter that’s got his legs all twisted up.

2 traps on separate drags could result in doubles.

I wouldn't. You are gonna lose all your swiveling.

Right now I’m having amnesia and déjà vu at the same time. I think I’ve forgotten this before.

I would use 2 different anchors or drags. Pre hook drags keep from getting in other trap. Same as other anchor. Set where cant get in other trap.

Yeah, you don't want a tangled up mess.

I would make 3 sets with single traps and I believe my odds would be better then having 2 traps at one set. I've never seen a double at a set with 2 staked traps.

I had a situation when trapping Coons for a buddy, where there was NO way to stake at all, small lake, with hard pan rock shore. I ended up using concrete blocks with a chain thru a hole and a trap on both ends. Worked great, and I would find the Coons asleep, with there heads shoved in the other hole for privacy! LOL

This works well wether they are caught in one trap or two. The lock washer is welded.

More trappin' and less yappin'.

I have used 2 trap sets, mostly for cats and most were connected to one staking point.I don't remember losing a cat this way but I have had a tangled mess that that put the swivels out of commision. The other problem tbat has occured was, when the animal was caught,it jumped and got the trap on on it's foot, caught in the trap that was still set. This also resulted in no swiveling, zero and it wouldn't matter how many swivels you have.

I have done some with seperate anchors, short chains stretched in opposit directions and that works but is a pain. The two traps can't reach each other and it is not uncommon to get a front foot in each trap.Furvor is right, two drags could result in a double. Not likely here but does give trappers another option.

2 traps on the same drag works just fine.
I like yoteguts set up on a single stake if need be.

I know a trapper that has good success using 2 traps. He makes a small mound near his main set & puts a trap on that mound. He often catches the coyote stepping on the mound while attempting to get a good sneak peak @ the main set. I don't know if that works with bobcats & fox.
