Probably embarrassed that the 3rd ranked big ten team was running over them thru 3 quarters.

Good close game until the last quarter, I wish it was like that all year but I realize that will never happen.

Probably right hippie. The powerhouse conference known as the Big 10 is proving to be the best conference in the nation given their bowl record this season.

I
Did you think they would show that good against a team that was ranked in the top 3 all year? I sure didnt.

That was the NFL and I have not had an NFL game on in this house since it happened. If college players all took to kneeling I wouldn't watch it anymore either.

That wasn't aimed at you as an individual Nittany, but when people start whining about coaches, refs, etc....You can just bet the farm they are sore about either their team losing, or someone they don't like winning.

And I thought they'd be whining because they were happy their team lost? Of course they'd be sore about their team losing. Not often but rarely the refs do have an impact. But the guys that come on and say they were holding every play or this call or that was missed are ridiculous.

Sure, I realize that. Surely you realize Michigan isn't atop the ten conference too?

I figure they were about in the polls where they should been, close but outta the top ten.I

Bama needs defense badly and something on offense because they relied on big, length of the field plays to score. Not very many "drives" if ya know what I mean.

Just what I took from that game.

If the play calls were all passes, I might see it as trying to run up the score, but a running back eating clock in the last 5 minutes of the game, come on now!

Prior to scoring the last touchdown at the 26 second mark, Alabama marched 73 yards in 12 plays, eating 5:49 in time with only a 10 point lead. Of those 12 plays, Harris ran on 11 of them and there was only a 5 yard pass on a 3rd down to move the chains with about 4 minutes left to play. Harris ran the last 2 yards to score the touchdown that the team earned, many of them for the last time in the Crimson and White. Michigan was more than welcome to stop them from marching down the field and scoring during any of those 12 plays.

Anyone else remember when Auburn proved to Alabama that it only takes 32 seconds at the end of the game to go from a 7 point loss to a 6 point win? Saban wasn't going leave any chance of that happening again. Play until the final whistle!!

I get what you're saying but with 26 seconds left all they had to do was kneel and game over? Unless there's an 11 point score that I'm unaware of? It was a coach taking out a personal vendetta with another coach, pretty simple to figure out it was below the belt and figures in to who you are as a person. What if a player on either team got hurt and it hurt their draft status because of his bravado?

You do realize nobody on here is saying he's not a great coach and doesn't dominate the Big10 right? Are you arguing with yourself? What "people" were quick to state he's a product of the Big10 and how does that even fit in with whats being discussed? ANd finally, if Meyer and OSU did that exact very thing you'd be all over it like stink on #&*$! And its not all Big10 guys saying it. Don't let your hate get in the way of just saying it was not the biggest thing he could have done, really, you are allowed to admit it. He's still the top coach and arguably the top program but he does whine and this was a classless move.

Well how about this. Some of us despise the idea of taking a knee in the name of "good sportsmanship". Play every down start to finish the way your supposed to, to win. Play to win every play and let the score be what it may.
IMO, the only consideration in "taking a knee" or "sending in the cheerleaders" should preservation and protection of your first string.

Yes, I'm a cold hearted bassturd but play to win is the only reason to play. Doesn't mean you can't be a gentleman and good sport but winning is the goal.

But you already won? So is it to disrespect and ram it down your opponents throat?

NO

It has nothing to do with your opponent respect or otherwise. It has everything to do with what Saban calls the process. Play every moment as if it's all on the line.

If anything it's patronizing to take a knee.

MN does have a great coach. Both QBs played a great game. Hard to believe Auburn's QB is a freshman and hard to believe MN's QB is a sophomore. I could see both teams in the top 10 next year.

Most in this country have things people in other countries only dream about. Yet, they want America to be more like those other countries.

I love Minnesotas coach, I just hope he stays there but I have a feeling a bigger program will snag him.

Being a GA fan...Auburn’s QB is impressive and needs to transfer out of the SEC!!!
