Too expensive to be practical when a foot trap will do the same thing, maybe better,at half the cost and simpler to employ.

Yeah, I suppose deer might have trouble self releasing from them, especially since we have to use an inline shock spring on foot snares.

For Fox,Coyote and cat. I wouldnt care if I was to set a STAINLESS STEEL Belisle 6" Foot Snare or a #3 Sleepy Creek off set DLS.

They work as will as a Foot Hold Trap.

I take it you are in Wisconsin. Why are you trying Cages and Footsnares. I'm from Colorado and thanks to my Horrible State becoming California we can't use leg holds.

I feel the easiest animal to trap with a leg hold, on sign, is a bobcat. GO STEEEL!!! At leasts while you can. I have to use cages and it is a HUGE disadvantage to using leg holds.

Sometimes I wonder if people having issues with toe catches might have less trouble w/ foot snares. I don't know. Some folks struggle to set foot snares. I remember when they became legal in Wi. I was at a WTA meeting & they were pitched as another 'tool'. When some states are losing ground, it's better to have more options even if most people don't have a love affair w/ foot snares.
