I was browsing the other day and found a fairly interesting setup for putting up fur out animals. Person fleshed and stretched fur out right away and had a drying system for the pelts. I would say similar to a boot dryer. Small pvc pipe with holes inside the pelt that circulated air. I was not able to get a pic of it but it had me thinking heavily about the process. He went into detail about how the speed of drying was different and you had to watch it close so it didn't dry too fast and also you had to check and make sure the pelt was drying evenly inside and did not have wet spots not getting air. They said after 12 hours or so it was done on the forced air and was just like drying a turned hide just with no turn.

Thoughts about this and has anyone gave it a go? I know the tried and true method works and is great. Really no issues on my end minus my own mistakes in the process. Trying maybe to look into something to eliminate my own personal mistakes.

Phil Brown does all his fox that way. And ranch mink are also done that way. The boards I saw that were used for fox had groves and slots milled Into them so you would get air flow. With the right system It will work. But unless your doing 100s of skins It probably wouldn't be practical.

Tried the boot dryer rig before more effective to just dry skin out then turn.

Not worth it for the average trapper.
Might be worth the investment if you are handling hundreds of fur out pelts on a regular basis like a rancher or a buyer of green pelts that makes money by putting them up by the hundreds.
Turning pelts fur out after initial drying fur in is not a big job if timed correctly.
