I've used bucket sets with 220 connibear before on coon and was very effective. Wondering if it would work on bobcat? Would fox be a stretch?

I think it'd work on cats. You'd want the trap at the cats head level is my understanding. Some get cats in 160s.

From what I’ve seen in my catches and viewing tracks and the snow, wooden boxes always win over plastic buckets. They’ll check out the plastic buckets but go on their way. I think wooden is more natural and kind of calms them down? I don’t know how to explain it but they’re more apt to go into a wooden box then a bucket, with that said I’ve seen posts on here of them caught in a bucket.

Ive accidently caught bobcats in bucket sets but its not nearly as high percentage as other methods. The distance from a bobcats nose to a front foot is very similar to a coyotes so catching cats in coyotes sets is almost a sure thing if they are around.

So that's why I can't catch a bobcat

I've never heard that 1, but I'd be careful where orange pails are set as they could attract thieves.
I have kinda wondered how cats see color.

I have caught several in buckets. The square buckets mostly using 160s. A few in 220s. Our law cant be over a 6x6 . I had one with a 220 in edge of water. Water went down caught a bobcat in it. I use mostly fish in them. I put a good size rock and leaves in it. I put logs on top to keep from getting turned over. I caught a 3 legged bobcat one time. Just had him by the shoulder. He was trying to get my bait. The body trap held him. I was listening to Clint Lockard. He was saying Chip Davis has real good luck on bobcats with them.

Ya I heard that too. But I think he uses a pan on his conibears instead of the wire trigger
