Started setting a new place Wednesday. Had nothing on Thursday’s check and a possum yesterday morning after a shower through the night. It started raining yesterday evening and rained all through the night dropping 2” according to that rain gauge. I did not have high hopes for anything this morning, actually I spent the night wondering how many traps I’d have to remake. Turns out 4, lol!
1 coyote, 1 coon, and 2 possums.
The catch circle on the coyote looked almost like some of the caught badger pics posted here.

What a mess

Yeah, told the landowner I’ll “attempt” to level out the catch circles when it dries out a little. I try not to set in his fields for just this reason, always set the edges.

Chased it with hounds right into my spring

I'd rather deal with snow.

I actually prefer snow...you can see the animals tracks.

Mud is tough. Bare, frozen ground with deep frost is about equally as difficult for me. There seems to be no shortage of both some years.

I would really like to trap in snow...but NOTHING like y’all boys have to deal with. I just want to be able to see tracks and see how they react to the sets if not caught.

Just come to PA then you can have snow at nite and mud by lunchtime
