Alright, I have a buddy whose cabin gets too much racoon activity on their deck and wants them gone. So, how late into spring does their fur stay good in northern mn?

I’ve seen the black mark starting at the ears and stretching down thru the shoulders (bare skin side) starting in mid January. It gets real pronounced by February. I’m told this is the sign the winter fur is breaking down and buyers dock you accordingly in a low dollar season. Don’t wait too long!

All the coon I caught over the holidays were bit up and yellowing already. I wouldn't wait long to catch them, especially in this market.

I have picked up a few coon here lately as the weather in my neck of the woods warmed up for a bit. I am really surprised that they are not tore up or bad yet. I put a short line out to hit them for the next fews days while the weather is warm. Its going to get cold again here in a few days and then i will pull it all. That is going to last for weeks it seems and there is no point in running a coon line at -10 here. They don't move an inch when its that cold.
