Long distance call And not all call lures have skunk in them and you can use call lures if put at the trap set if you take advantage of critter response a head time.
(Example )a rub set or what is called a rub set for cats.
But like BEAV said location is the key.

I have used cavens predator plus bait with skunk. No issue with rolling. I have caught many skunks in traps to have been eaten. Only thing was left was foot in trap and fur. I have seen both bobcat and coyote tracks around.

I don't think there's a good answer as to how many yards a call lure will reach

It all depends on the wind. With the right conditions I can smell my set up from 200 yards away I'm betting a coyote could smell It from 500 yards away with the right conditions.

I would imagine canines have a better sense of smell than bobcats, but I don't know that. You don't see Police CATS smile

I think location is key. We probably sometimes underestimate how good predators smell. After a few days I often can hardly smell the attractants at my set, if it all, while standing close to it. Unless maybe it's Gusto. I think my sense of smell is good. And I don't think I put out too little lure. Anythings possible I guess. I suppose it depends how often people re-lure.
