I had a bunch of scrap 2" xps foam around and I came up with this idea. I like to have a lot of lure with me in the truck, but I don't like them sliding around in a bucket somewhere. I used different sized hole saws to cut out spaces for lure to sit in. I am planning on keeping my bait and urine in the bottom and the lure sits nicely above them. I just figured I'd share in case anyone wanted to copy it or improve it any.

I do something similar but I drilled holes into 4 x 4s. One for fox, one for coon, one for coyotes so everything isn't always mixed up. Like the idea of foam.

Nice Idea. Thanks for sharing. Another tip not mentioned- I like the idea of marking the tops of lids. It's the first thing a trapper sees. I mark lids as well...

Oh heck yeah!! I gotta try that. Where can I get that foam? Dumpster dive. That high density is used when they pour cement between the doors of heated garages and the outside driveways,

I keep mine in the basement, dark and cool. I put mine in ziploc bags and bury it in cat litter in small totes, no smell.
Let's go Brandon!

When I make another, I won't cut all the way through the foam. The foam tends to wear out over time and the bottles start to fall through

I was thinking about this post last night, thinking I should do something similar. What I came up with was- take a 5 gallon bucket and fill it completely with that expanding foam from an aerosol can. Once it is "cured", take the whole chunk of foam out of the bucket (you may need to cut the bucket to remove the foam) and cut it into 4"-5" thick "pancakes". You would then cut the holes in it (not all the way through) to hold the lure/bait. After the bottom "pancake" is made, put it back in a bucket. You would then need to discard the next "pancake" and use the 3rd one from the bottom. Doing that, it should give you a second level that will hold itself above the bottom layer. I haven't tried this yet, but will.

I stored mine in tight-closing military surplus metal ammo boxes to control odors. I only carried a few lures on any given day on the trapline.

When I make another, I won't cut all the way through the foam. The foam tends to wear out over time and the bottles start to fall through All you have to do is buy a piece of 1/4" thick minicell foam (ebay) and use 3M 77 spray adhesive to glue it to the bottom of your block_instant bottom.

I haven't tried this yet, but will. You'll have to spray the foam in 2-3" layers. If you just fill a bucket it won't cure the same. Let us know how it works out
