I would like to know what an effective method for spot cleaning blood on fur that has already been turned out? I wash all my fur vigorously in a bucket and drip dry before stretching, but every once in a while I miss a spot of blood. I just comb it out as best I can but sometimes you can still tell the fur is slightly discolored still. I have heard good and bad about borax, (not sure on how to apply, as dry powder or mix with water and pray it on) and I think Beav mentioned somewhere about a stain remover. Just looking for some input! TIA

Dry borax and scrub brush. shake out excess and blow remainder out with an air hose or leaf blower. for small spots, spray with hydrogen peroxide and wipe with a sponge or cloth.

Re the borax treatment, once the skin as dried and the fur turned out work considerable dry borax powder into the stained areas, let set for 10-15 minutes and then comb, brush, and shake the borax out. Using this borax treatment method works extremely well as can be seen in the following before and after pictures. As well as removing blood stains the borax also cleans and brightens the fur. Thank you all for the great input! I will be trying all methods above. Beav thank you for the clarification in your method, sounds simple and effective!

I never used the Oxi clean on cats but I have enhanced the brightness with the borax. The Oxi clean Is a stain remover so It might work.

Nearly everyone that catches good cats uses borax to clean them up. Amongst other methods!

Borax is poisonous and hard on the lungs-wear a dust mask if you go that route.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.
