After 3-4 years of outstanding luck Snaring Beaver on Fake Slides with Fake Castor Mound Or Trail Sets w/Snares.So now I am getting Baffled at the last 2 spots I've Trapped.Maybe its me but the last few years its has about 9 out of 10 spots I go, I always get the young ones first and then the Adults [older] ones last.

So now the 2 spots I have trapped or have just started to Trap, I have caught Nice sized 55 -65 pounders and then the young ones last. It's just not what I am used to. How does it happen you some of you? Is there really any usual way it happens for you?

I usually get the older bigger ones to my castor mounds first. Normally. Than some smaller ones, sometimes kits. Than bigger ones again. Than leave some seed behind and move on somewhere else. Never really out much thought into it. But interesting.

I get mix in places I trap for them. Some times the older one first and then the young , then another place is the young at first then the older ones. It is who get to the trap first. I do not live that far from you also I see for where in Iowa you are.

Lot of it depends on how close to the den you are, farther from the den you set, you get a better chance of catching the adults first.

Agree
Also, in ditches from the main river i get more adults.
One ditch this year separated from the big bayou by a levee i got the two adults and then three small ones. Pin is where the beavers were caught. To the right you can see the wide bayou.
