He uses homemade Iowa type stakes I believe. Pulls them with a pick axe...

Correct, each trap has one of these attached with about 16"-18" of 1/8" cable.

Carries 5 Death Rays. First stop when I rode with Robert, he had ten coyotes in ten sets. Kind of busy for a while.

He just scrapes up surface dirt & duff with his sifter and hopes it stays dry. That applies to last week. He does make waxed dirt, but I didn't see any.

Robert asked me to make this post...

All of his coyotes have been caught in footholds. NO snares whatsoever!! He had 6 coyotes stolen out of his traps so he felt it was ok to count the 4 coyotes he shot and the 1 roadkill he picked up.

Other than the 23 coyotes he caught in North Dakota, the remainder were all harvested on a 24 HOUR CHECK!! Not the same as snaring in Canada!

Also, he is only counting the coyotes caught during the fur season. The count does NOT include the coyotes caught during the rest of the year while doing control work in Mississippi, New Mexico, etc...

It is a death ray, made by Lee Steinmeyer. It is a dispatch tool, tap yote on nose, place cable loop over head and press handle to squeeze loop. Quick and mess free dispatch
