I think it may be a mistake to assume that all conservative judges support hunters and trappers. Neither activity is protected by the Constitution, and I know conservatives who do not support hunting or trapping.

Jim True. But I would say a lot more conservative judges support it than liberal ones.

Of course you have nothing substantive to add to the discussion.

Actually, wouldn't a conservative judge defer to the state legislature, absent a solid Constitutional issue? Even with a Constitutional issue, a conservative judge is more likely to read the Constitution narrowly, in accordance with its original intent; and there was no intent by the Framers to protect hunting and trapping.
Trump himself has shown no inclination to protect hunters and trappers, so why would he pick judges who think differently.

If this is too political, please delete it. However, as trappers, I think it is too important too ignore. In the latest issue of the American Trapper magazine, NTA VP Matt Lumley reported the following: The U.S. Federal 9th Circuit of Appeals Court presently consists of 16 liberal judges and 14 conservative judges. If the presidency and U.S. senate stay in the Republican majority after the next election, then every district court and the U.S. Supreme Court will flip in favor of hunters and trappers. I also read in another article that Trump’s appointees to the federal courts average 10 years younger than Obama’s appointees thus the conservatives will remain in control longer. I wouldn't bet on it. Here's just a couple things that I find disconcerting; https://www.wsj.com/articles/suprem...opular-vote-11579293850?mod=hp_lead_pos6Long read but worth it to 'know your enemy' https://harvardlawreview.org/2020/0...titution-to-ensure-equal-representation/
