The job Is In Kansas. It's a lot of ground but part of It Is In another state and he doesn't have a permit there.
We talked and he's pretty sure he won't hit the 1000 but 900 may be doable.

Thanks for the update Beav... he has some serious grit. I hope he writes a book on this quest, someday, whether or not he reaches 1,000.

Depends on If and when the coyotes start to break. He can't afford to be trapping $20.00 coyotes just to make the 1000 coyote mark. He has already run Into lots of mange so he hasn't actually skinned 800 coyotes.

Go read the Blog about the part on dirt holes. Robert does have the advantage In that Kansas has a coyote or to behind every bush. So that does help but It's still the work that gets It done. And he Is cold rolling In a new area.

And he Is cold rolling In a new area. That's not necessarily true about a coyote or two under every bush! Used to be a lot more than now, and most points to parvo running through again. The NE area where I'm at, we hardly caught a pup this season. The SW was much better for pups, but lots of mange and lice in areas there. It changes every year, you just can't label it that easily, Gary. In my area, I'd bet the coyote pop isn't much different than Wi. Get em, Robert!

Lee, I know this is anecdotal evidence, but I saw more coyotes in the 4 days I was at my daughter's wedding in KS than I have seen here since I got back
I don't mean my post to be disparaging of Roberts accomplishments, no matter where one is at it's a ton of work and requires dedication most won't do.

I'm basically saying that In WI a quest for 200 trapped coyotes would be just about Impossible. But when you can catch over 700 coyotes In Kansas there has to be a huge population. And Lee Is probably right that the numbers are down. But there still Is a huge population compare to other states. But In no way I'm saying It's easy I'm just saying he has a population to work with It's just Like Phil Brown there Is no way he would ever catch that many fox any where else no matter how hard he worked.

Not sure what part of Ks you were in or what the terrain is like were you live but could your sightings have anything to do with the openness of the terrain in a lot of parts of Ks. My catch #s were half what they should be this year. Normal is 60 to 70% pups this 15 to 20%.

Early report said 7 so far today. That should put him at 796. That is simply amazing, I hope he is well rewarded for his efforts.
