I hate skinning yotes. I'd rather skin four beaver than a yote. Maybe a skinning machine would help but I don't get enough of them worth skinning to make it worth the investment.

For me, personally, I don't find them too hard to skin or flesh. I don't usually skin and flesh in the same day so not really sure. I usually skin them then put them in the freezer and pull out a couple at a time to flesh and board. Takes me a half hour to skin. Maybe 20 to 40 minutes to flesh depending on the yote. Skinning while warm is definitely easier than if they are cold and stiff.

I was like you and sold green skinned or whole and decided this year since I was retired to learn to put fur up. I built a fur shed and designed it around ADC's skinning machine so I had enough height for it. Best money I ever spent, makes skinning way easier and way more fun. I am having a great time working on fur and hanging out in my new shed. I am way faster than when I started.

The hardest thing in the world to skin is a cold coyote unless you have a skinning machine. I found that out after skinning 3 cold ones. It took about a week for my sore shoulders to recover. I quit putting up coyotes; too much work. Compared to putting up a coyote, beaver are easy.
Must be nice to eat ice cream as fast as you want and not have to worry about brain freeze.

It takes me an hour and a half to skin, flesh, and put up a coyote.
Cold as ice!

Generally around 1 1/2 hours to skin, flesh ( includes turning ears and splitting tail) and board.
The only constant in trapping is change so keep learning.
