Very nice snowy, that looks great and unique.
I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

Moosetrot go for it, glad the idea got you interested. It doesn't seem that I can even give my parts away here, to many around or something. When I rebuilt a buggy years ago I was looking for a 5th wheel for the one I was restoring and I had one heck of time to find one. Now I have many of those parts and can't seem to get any interest in them if someone wanted them to rebuild a buggy. I don't want to junk that stuff because of the age and the rarity of the old time parts. Lol
Keep me in the loop if you make a chair or two, I would love to see them. Mine is very simple basic nothing fancy and that is just the way I like things though. They actually would be a very nice item in a grand room in ones home. They are a nice chair to sit in and acts like a cushion and comfortable IMO.

^ ya, no planning and I was totally amazed how smooth and even it split. I think the wood is so dried out that it turned out that way. It still has the cedar smell not strong but can still get that great smell after 100 plus years old.

OH man that would be a great idea. I was thinking when I did this one to split a 12 inch cedar log in half and putt each half on all 4 corners for a rocker also. Then I thought about that and that wouldn't have worked.

I used a draw knife and pealed off the outer weathered wood first then split them. It was easy and fast taking off that old weathered outer wood with my draw knife.

Years ago I ran a snare line on a ranch that removed all the cedar fence posts then stacked them up to burn I now wish I'd of grabbed a pickup load of them before they were burned.
Darn nice chair that would be a great addition to any deck or man cave !
