I was actually targeting coyotes in my backyard. So I pitched a beaver carcass I had trapped a few days before on top of a brush pile and set a trap at the only access point. A couple days later had this beautiful red fox. Ive trapped greys before but this is my first red. My son was tickled to see it. Im thinking this fox was the culprit for my neighbor’s dead chickens.

No doubt congrats. A red fox is definitely a nice fur.

Keep your boots dry and your powder too.

I remember when a fur check was reality.....now I'm just trapping for the love of it.

Best Regards,

JT

Put a camera out. Now you'll have 1 or 2 more reds coming in from the scent.

Just a weekend trapper...

It wouldn’t surprise me. I trapped a couple greys in the same area before.

Really good looking fox, rare to see a red fox around here, I see grays quite often though.
