Robert has done trapping for fur a great boost for sure. His work ethic along with knowledge shows what can be accomplished when committed. The other thing I learned reading this thread is the high percentage of coyotes that are harvested that are in very poor condition fur wise.

The photo shows my setup. When I was with Robert in Kansas he did not drill or need pilot holes.

Yep, that is what I use/need for the shale roads I trap in Northern Maine. Got it at Lowes.

Congrats Robert and many thanks to Beav and EB for taking us with on the journey. Will miss this for sure.

57 years trapping. It's who I am. Every day is still as exciting as it was when I was a kid but a little more work.

Robert will be heading home then on to MS to do some beaver work and some hog work then It's off to NM to do some ADC coyote work. In between that time he has to put up all those coyotes to get them ready for sale. I just don't know how that man can accomplish all that.

But maybe I can keep this going as he moves on from the coyote Quest to other things.

He told me he could flesh and board 25 coyotes a day. Out of the 927 he caught I'm not sure how many are going home.

Would be interesting to know how many are going to sale vs caught. Luckily my area doesn't have much mange at all, interesting to see different areas and their percentages. We also don't have a very dense coyote population.

Great job and hats off to Robert for an incredible quest. He hammered them. I hope he has the personal satisfaction that there are a lot of folks new and old that have great respect for what he has accomplished. Not to mention taking us all along.

I had not met Robert before last year at Lee’s FTA booth, won’t get into it here but I would say the man has a sense of humor off the line.

Robert may not have got 1000 he was shooting for. But deep down everyone knew 1000 would be hard to do, but we all still hoped he would get them. Next year we will be watching for the quest to begin. I was like a kid in the candy store wondering how many he got that day.

Way to go Robert.

Plus only 20 more post and it 1000 post.
