Found what appears to be a #1 long spring, I traded a beer for it:)
Was wondering what process one might follow to restore it. Was thinking wire wheel and rust converter followed by coat and wax.
Allso it seems the jaws have bee reversed at some point.... perhaps to comply with the law change some time back.
Will probably end up adding new swivels.

Quite few of these around, if this one works out well may make an effort to collect them all.

Very interesting trap!
Do you want to restore it as a User trap? Or as a collector trap?
Big difference in how youd treat it.

On the Safe side would be a toothbrush and dish soap....a little harsher would be a vinegar bath for a day and the toothbrush after with soap & water.. dye and wax after if you wanted to use it that is.

Wissmiss could tell you more about the type of trap, especially if you could see the pan stamp.

I'd like to use this trap, there's alot around where I live so I could use them to supplement my new bought traps.
This one sat in a box for god knows how long, waiting to see the light.

I'll photograph the pan stamp tomorrow.

It looks like it was made so you could take the jaws out and turn them around and have a toothed trap

I had a number one size that I got when I was in Saudi Arabia. The wave teeth were in on it. Some of them have round holes and some wavy to form the teeth. Here is a 1 1/2 size, that came from the Netherlands. It has wavy teeth. The base extends out almost to the curve of the spring. The end of he base is drilled for jaws to fit in on one end and a jaw post is riveted on for the other end of the jaws. Real wide dog and large pan.
