Connected on 4 male otter at one location this morning. 2 were on dam crossover and 2 on another crossover bout 20 yards up stream. Couple beaver to boot also. 6 traps produced 6 catches at this location. 4 Belisles and 2 TS85s got the job done. Fun times.

WHen do you beaver start going downhill hide-wise Well most are in terrible shape right now from bite marks. As far as the pelt I think these southerners are always downhill lol I really don't know to be honest. They have always looked fine to me until the end of fur harvesting season which is March 15.

Nice catch. I’d love to snag an otter. Wish we had them

"As far as the pelt I think these southerners are always downhill lol"
Yea I was going to say southern beaver were born down the hill.
The best I ever did was three at one spot. I had another set about 20 yards on down and really it was the best set and I just knew I would have another otter there but nope, empty. That was back before the otter crash so I was still pretty pumped.
Poor people have poor ways.

You doing good . Keep it up. I did not get my otter this season. first time since 2013 that I did not get any, the max here is 2 and some of the years I did get my 2 but last year I did get 1.. remember where you got the otters because if all stay the same for next season you have a good chance to get them there again since otter have a habit to follow where others go.and for the blind set you will normal keep getting the same sex of otters also I found for the past years of trapping them in blind sets back in the late 80's and early 90's
