First time trying a drowning setup for beaver in a creek setting. I made up some 10 ft sections of 1/8 cable with adjustable loops on each end. Deep water end is a cinder block, is 24 inch t bar enough at the bank? The creek can alternate between silty muck and more gravelly ground.

Plenty long. The beaver is going away from the stake toward the drowning weight.

beaver can and will drag a cinder block back up the bank. the stake should work. just be ready for a mad beaver to be clicking its teeth at you. often a block will work. but its common for it not too.

plenty of length but as noted, they'll drag a cinder block up to the bank, yet a sack with 40 lbs of dirt or gravel will work better, just fill on site.

Instead of having to haul a block around I use a t-post on the drowning end. Pound that joker in a ways and they will be waiting on the bottom for you.

but lean it away from the trap at an angle. Best if you put a stop 24inched from the end so they can't wrap around the brick or deep anchor point. A deer stop works fine.

We’ve very successfully used standard and heavy duty berkshire stakes on the deep end for coon, beaver and otters. We also use 14 Guage wire that’s sometimes 20 ft long. Works for us.

I made some 4' long 1/2" T bars last year as the end post. Very happy with them. Easy to put in and pull.
