Do you paint your traps white for coyote and wolves for winter trapping ?

I am from the u.p.
I paint several white for the winter.
Not sure if it really matters though.
my kids like to do it.

I don't either, never have had an issue. After its covered with wax paper and some snow you can't see it.

I've whitened snares. A dappled effect and they are invisible in snowy brush. I've not whitened traps but I'm not opposed to it.

I have a few that I painted white, suppose help prevent burn out during the late season but in all honesty it didn't make a difference.

Same here - can't see them so don't bother. Leave them hanging in trees all summer by the sets so figure they get aired out after a few years..

I use the same.dye and wax as always. Once it is in the ground you can't tell.what color it is.


Wish I had more time to trap....
