I had a fur buyer once that wasn't paying good at the end of the season because he run low on money. Not saying this is Groenys deal, just throwing out that there could be many reasons. Ever see them raise prices because they were out of money? LLL

Well to prove you wrong again I checked the fur bible.
Quote page 737/Fur grading/ Raccoon-sections.
Sections recognized for raccoon reflect the density of the fur and the thickness of the leather,and therefore the ultimate use in the garment industry.The following sections are recognized.
#1-Canadian-All Canadian provinces east of Alberta.
"Raccoon pelts from Canada have the heaviest fur.The guardhairs are 3 inches long and the underfur is extremely dense.
These pelts are used for trim collars and hats to give full appearance".
So although fashon demands change from time to time-Canadian raccoon is obviously the best pelts,although at times small flat coat coon may fit the bill of fashon requirements and may be in more demand for certain fashon uses popular at the time.
#2-Heavy-New england,eastern,Northern,and NW sections in the US.
The largest and heaviest pelts in this section come from the Dakotas and western minnesota.The best colour pelts in this section come from Iowa.
#3-semiheavy
#4-coat.
So although your lesser quality coons may be more in demand in this current fashon trend it doesnt make them a better coon furwise.
So now we know who is in fantasyland.LOL. According to an outdated 30+ year old pamphlet written in 1987, probably by a drunken Canadian, who is biased against United States wild fur doesn't prove anything to us. Heck, the guy doesn't even know how to spell FASHION or COLOR !!!  w

Calls me as well LLL...Only thing I hate is dishonesty! Answer my question then. LLL Duh.. Of course he wants to buy your coon. He wants to buy everyone's coon, that's why he's called a "fur buyer". That doesn't mean you have the same quality coon as a triangle coon! In the past you've said you run a 24hr check, than a few moments later its an extended check. You claim to have only 50 2X, and 3 1X out of a thousand coon. Your either culling a LOT of coon, or your a blatant liar. You forget that years ago I raised coon, and even with the best nutrition, the vast majority of YOY are 2X coon. You trap the water, and we ALL know that first week water coon are primarily sows with YOY. A hunk of carp in a hole attracts ALL sizes. Don't pee down my back and tell me its raining!

I don't believe for a minute that golden triangle coon are heavier on the average than my Canadian border coon, but mine are sleeping in December, and not out much.

I was worried when I heard NAFA went under that we on Trapperman would lose the entertainment of who's coon is better, bigger, fluffier, heavier, denser, prettier, and most abundant. Glad I was wrong. Those off-season moments of clarity give me the creeps.

It only makes perfect sense. There is a perfect spot for a lot of things geographically. Ya don't go to Wisconsin to find great bananas lol.
