My cousin runs a golf course and he asked me to come trap the muskrats that are destroying his greens. He said he would pay me but i am not sure what a reasonable price is.

$1000 for a week of service, there that's a starting point for you

How much time is it going to take to set and service the traps?

Time (pick whatever you are worth/hour), mileage (40ish cents/mile), equipment and bait expenses.
I leave the deal open-ended. Trust between the client and the trapper is paramount for this strategy to work.
A muskrat is easy to catch. The last one? Not so much.

Remember rats have a season here in MN so unless your trapping them in season, you'll need to clear it with Mr. Green Pants first.

Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.

I am aware of this and my cousin has received permission from him in the past to shoot, kill, remove wildlife pests in the past he has a good relationship with him.

Maybe a simple 'per rat' fee is the way to go.

Neighbor had problems with rats under mining his driveway last fall and asked me if I could help him out. Did it for the rats since it was in season and it was a new place to trap. Only caught 4 but it solved the problem. Later he gave me $100 for catching them saying it would have cost him much more than that to fix his driveway. Got $2.50 from the fur buyer6 and $25.00 from my neighbor per rat plus a new place to trap next season. Not bad I would say.

Yep, some times you have to be creative in how you handle a specific job. I did 1 for minimal price last year for a friend of a friend and the doors it opened up for me was unreal.
