Watching the news and I am just not getting it. If as a lot of people say this virus is not much worse than the flu for most people then what is going on? IT's being treated like the end times. Is it the media going crazy or is it a lot worse than we are being told and they are trying to keep a lid on it? Also whole countries on lock down? Like I said just something smells wrong.

I agree, it seems weird to me too. I think they should say how old the people are that are dying.

They made a big deal when the first Canadian died from it. In Vancouver, ( lots of Chinese there) and was 88 years old, living in a home care home, and had a ton of health issues.

There is a real push to make this seem like a huge deal. It's hurting the stock market - which will eventually hurt businesses - which will eventually create unemployment - which will make people poor - which will make people willing to depend on the government. As long as everyone is doing well, the party of freebies won't be needed. It's not a coincidence that Biden and Sanders have cancelled rallies, the governor of MA has declared a state of emergency and so has NJ. The governor of NY has sent the national guard to New Rochelle. Shelves are already empty in some NJ towns and the NJDOH has told everyone to go out and stockpile food - a crisis created. All coordinated and carefully planned.

The media did its job. The stock market was going too high and they used it to bring it down so big investors could buy in. Nevertheless the economy is strong.

Here’s the deal. The disease attack rate breaks down like this. 80% who get it will have no symptoms or mild symptoms. The remaining 20% will get a real BAD cold. Of that 20%, it looks like 3-4% will die from it. Okay, it doesn’t sound too bad unless you’re over 70. Then the numbers jump to 8% dying.

Still not tooooo bad. But, people who already have COPD, diabetes, heart disease, significant lung damage or diseases of many stripes are at risk for dying.

It started in Wuhan, China. Wuhan has 11,000,000 people and Chinese people are pretty free these days to travel the world. Everybody under the sun who had a cough, fever, etc clogged the emergency rooms. Those who didn’t have it certainly did after they were exposed as they were in those over-run emergency rooms.
The population of the US has a lot of people over 65 who are heading towards being in that 20%. If we did a demographic survey of Tman members, it would be surprising to see how many of us are 65. Gosh, l’m almost 70 and will be in that 20% if southern Minnesota gets hit hard.

So far, few people have gotten it. The latest studies, by disease researchers around the country suggest we probably have 10 - 20 times the reported number of cases, because they are asymptomatic. Covid-19 as it’s called, is here. Avoiding it is possible. But depending on how old you are and what sort of physical health you’re in, could be the difference between a no-cold, mild cold, being in a hospital for 2-weeks of quarantine, or dying.

Wuhan, China, is a HUGE city. It’s like New York or Chicago, or San Francisco. People are packed in pretty tightly and as such, when it gets a toe hold there, things could get tough for the hospital industry. Unlike China, with 100 cities of 1 million people each, the US is sparsely populated by comparison. Soooo, the bottom line is it can be a big deal if you’re older and have pre-existing conditions. And, if we treat this as a serious threat to health, we’ll come out of it okay. Take it seriously. Wash your hands often. Keep your hands away from your face as much as possible. If you get a cold, stay home.

Neal Katyal, who served as Acting Solicitor General under President Barack Obama, tweeted Monday that President Donald Trump should be removed from office under the 25th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

If your a part of that group you need to have your will written and your family should already know who gets what. Should have funeral arrangements made. May still be fairly healthy but that can change quick even without getting a flu
