I was talking to an older collector from michigan about the flat link chain setup on 114s. Said his didn't have any coldshuts. So he sent me some pics and said I could share. Thanks Ken... I think them canadians had a good idea and am surprised that swivel style didn't get used on other models that needed coldshuts.

Here is his Canada model 114 with open eye swivels. You have to look close but these are the best pics I got....

I believe this is the US version for reference

Are the two different post nuts a Canadian idea also?

Dale,
That last picture is the short spring #114 with #4 springs and #4 jaw posts. Very hard trap to come by.

I think the jaw post nuts are the same, just hard to make out the one from the glare in the photo.

That swivel makes for a pretty clean looking chain rig, too bad it didn't catch on.

Yes, those are the same size nuts... I even checked with my readers on.
Paul is young enough, he should be able to see that without readers.... grin

I think that Canadian 114 might be harder to come by. But that might be because it is the only trap i have seen with those swivels.

Dale, they are both very hard to come by. I have seen quite a few more Canadian #114s than the short spring #114 over the years, but finding either will put a big smile on your face.
