This 1 hits close to home. Joe spent 6th-11th grade in Whitehall, Wi. He was 1 of the great ones. They don't make country music like his anymore. A very well respected man and an even greater singer. How can you beat his hit "John Deere Green..." He was working on a new album.
What a bummer.

My dad was real good friends with Joe. My dad is from LaCrosse, grew up their and around Blair, Ettrick, Whitehall ( a lot of family around there). My dad lived in Nashville for over 25 years and was in the song writing business. This and Kenny Rogers( knew also) has hit him pretty hard.
