Picked one off one of my dogs yesterday. And we've still got snow on the ground!
Must be nice to eat ice cream as fast as you want and not have to worry about brain freeze.

The deer ticks are always out if you have a mild day. I've had them on me in December and January. The dog brought me a present yesterday of a deer tick. Fortunately it got on my hand and I found it. So far haven't found any more on him or me.

I wear knee boots as it really helps deter them. I do too and agree, it helps.

Permethrin works wonders on them. I spray my clothes with them. It lasts through several washings. I have watched ticks get up about knee high or so on my pants and then they start lifting their legs up and down like they are walking on hot coals. Then they just fall off.

The ticks have been out the entire winter here and this is not the first winter I have been finding ticks on myself. I grew up hunting and trapping in these mountains and never found ticks on myself. Now you can not go out into the back without getting a tick on yourself. Another virus we need to concern ourselves with. Yikes. 1 nice thing about winter has always been the lack of ticks.

I enjoy scouting and putting out cameras on promising locations. I follow a routine of applying a 40% Deet spray to my hat, gloves, coat, pants, and boots when I get out of the truck. At home I remove my hat, gloves, coat, and boots and hang them outside. I take my pants, shirt and underwear/socks to the washing machine, then I take a shower. This is a pita but I enjoy going out too much to not do it.

Just gave my dog his monthly flea and tick pill (Credelio). That's his first one since last November.
Eh...wot?
