Has anyone else noticed with the colapsable colony traps that at times the doors get hung up against the wall or stuck on the bottom. I did file on the mesh to make more smooth 0n all the edges. But still have the same problem. I always make sure the door will work before I leave. But can't help but think after the first catch the door could get hung up. Anyone know how to modify doors to make more effective?

Sorry, no experience with the collapsible cages. Like you said always a good thing to check before you drop em in!

Bow the sides out on the ends some once to have the rod holding them in shape..... assuming the rod that holds them in shape is in the center.

I have some collapsible traps and so far I have had no problems with the doors hanging up. I get lots multiple catches.
ADC gave you some good advice.

Get the plastic/poly door trim for wire pet cages. I put this in the door flaps to keep them from catching on the floor or walls of the trap. Occasionally you have to replace them due to chewing but saves a lot of headache when it comes to doors not operating correctly and saves your gloves from getting holes.

On my daughter's rabbit cages I filed all the sharp edges down instead of using the plastic covers. We don't have to worry about them coming off now. It took some time but was worth it. Should help keep the door on your traps from catching as well.

When I built mine I ground off the two outside edges to where they were smooth and the bottom edge I took a Metal break and bent over the edge so I had a nice smooth edge and by doing this I added a bit more weight and that also beefed up the door so there was less bending. I've heard trappers talk about a mink squeezing out by bending the doors. This won't happen when you add this bend. You could do all 3 edges like this but then the door may become to heavy with the added material.
